FiinGroup accompanies CFA Institute Research Challenge 2024-2025

FiinGroup was also honored to be the data sponsor for the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2024-2025, providing subscription accounts via the FiinPro-X platform to effectively support the teams during the preliminary rounds with fundamental analysis of industries, companies, industry comparisons, stock valuation data inputs, etc.

 

On December 21, 2024, the national finals of the CFA Institute Research Challenge for the 2024-2025 season took place, bringing together four outstanding teams from the following universities: National Economics University (NEU), VinUni, RMIT University Ho Chi Minh City, and Foreign Trade University Ho Chi Minh City. The teams presented their analysis and investment thesis on a specific company to the judging panel, which consisted of experts from the finance and investment industry.

Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, Chairman of FiinGroup & FiinRatings, who participated in the judging panel, commented: “The investment stories and analysis arguments presented by the finalist teams this year were excellent, especially the presentation materials, which were of high quality, with well-visualized data, clear messages for each chart, and extremely coherent explanations—surpassing many professionals in the market today. You all have the potential to become outstanding analysts in the near future!”

With the final results, the team from National Economics University (NEU) was chosen by the judging panel as the champion of the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2024-2025. The NEU team impressed with their clear and compelling story, guiding the audience through each phase from industry overview to in-depth company analysis, and concluding with sharp investment arguments. The team also displayed confidence in answering questions from the judges directly and clearly, demonstrating a deep understanding of both the company and the industry. With this impressive performance, NEU will represent Vietnam in the Asia-Pacific regional finals.

FiinGroup also awarded a special prize for the "Best Data Analysis Application Team" worth 10 million VND in cash. This prize motivated finance and investment students to enter the financial analysis profession, encouraging them to use data analysis in their career development, increasing job opportunities, and advancing in this field. This award was also given to the NEU team, which was also the champion of the CFA Institute Research Challenge this year.
