FiinGroup’s CEO discussed Vietnam corporate bond market at Invest ASEAN 2022

On Wednesday, 8 June 2022, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, FiinGroup’s CEO, participated in the Invest ASEAN 2022 seminar by Maybank with the topic "Vietnam's Bond Market: Clearing the Water" in which Mr. Thuan presented challenges in Vietnam's corporate bond market and implications for corporate financing strategy.

 

On Wednesday, 8 June 2022, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, FiinGroup’s CEO, participated in the Invest ASEAN 2022 seminar by Maybank with the topic "Vietnam's Bond Market: Clearing the Water" in which Mr. Thuan presented challenges in Vietnam's corporate bond market and implications for corporate financing strategy. 

FiinGroup would like to summarize some of the main content shared by the speakers during the talk: 

• Corporate bond issuance has a robust growth over the past 5 years, and real estate developers still have room for further debt capacity. 

• Speakers expect that the Amendment of Decree 153 will solve the problem of investor base, distinguish between professional and non-professional individual investors, standardise issuance documents, which should include forms and information for companies to declare. Addition, new policies should have certain "foresight" of the market to maintain stability and avoid changing the "game rules" continuously in a short time. 

• The specialised listing market for private placement corporate bonds is being deployed and will soon come into operation in a methodical and transparent manner.
